Autoclave Sterilizer - 24L, 240V, with Test Tube / Beaker Rack. The sterilizer uses saturated steam to rapidly and efficiently sterilize a wide range of items in the school laboratory environment such as glassware, agars and compounds, media and instruments. The sterilizer is heated by an immersed electro-thermal element which gives rapid temperature rise and low power consumption. The sterilizer is fabricated from high grade stainless steel which is acid and alkali proof and also is much stronger and more robust than aluminium sterilizers. The lid is fitted with an air release valve, safety valve and dual scale gauge calibrated in bar (1 bar equals 1 atmosphere) and degrees centigrade to permit convenient monitoring.

These sterilizers are sold with the attached Residual Current Power converter for the following reasons:
1. Both sterilizers are supplied with a 15 amp plug lead because the unit operates normally near to 2400 watts
2. The Power converter (RCD 15A to 10A - Portable ELC-470005) accepts the 15 amp plug whereas many laboratories do not have this larger earth wall socket available.
3. The power converter has a normal moulded plug with standard earth so will operate in any laboratory
4. The power converter also incorporates a Residual Current Device which needs to be ON for use and protects both users and existing electrical circuitry in the unlikely event of a malfunction.
5. Some older electrical installations may use fusing protection that trips under 10amps
Includes unit includes the MS-404-1190 Power Converter for Safety.
